Internationalisation trip 2024 (Japan)

GEAR performance

This trip was truly a once in a lifetime opportunity. The internationalization   overseas Japan trip's focus is on art and music. Through this trip, I gained the opportunity to watch a wordless, action based performance that transcends the language barrier known as GEAR. Where action speaks louder than words.

Sendai Nika Highschool

Before the trip itself, we spent months preparing gifts for the Japan students. For me, I created a silkscreen print of Westwood Secondary School's mascot, a bear and Sendai Nika High's mascot, a cat holding hand in hand. I also created stickers of characters symbolizing both school's connection with one another.

Sim Meranti 3.0 (2024)

Sim Meranti 3.0 gave me a chance to interact with students from Malaysia and Indonesia. This project allowed me to think innovatively on how society or companies could create cheap and environmentally friendly objects. For me and my group, we designed a air refreshener then proceeded to present it to Westwood Secondary School's principal, Mr Abdul Harris.

This project has also allowed me to connect with my peers from Malaysia and Indonesia by letting us go on a trip to Gardens By The Bay for a treasure hunt. Truthfully, it was a pleasant and fun experience for one to have. This project allowed us to not only have fun and connect with others not from the same ethnic and country but also to be innovative and think about the possible future.

Intergenerational Project, GivingBAC: One Moon, Two Worlds (2023)

A experimentation of method, creating a artwork labeled One Moon, Two worlds. A collaboration by students from Boon Lay Secondary, Methodist Girl's School, Westwood Secondary School and seniors from MWS Wesley Active Ageing Centre. This provided me the experience of working with elderlies of many backgrounds, personality and ethnics.

Values in action 2024(VIA)

I contributed as one of the leaders in this via project, creating games that are not limited to the youths but elderlies as well thus creating a inclusive environment. This via activity gave me a opportunity of communicating with elderlies and thinking about what kind of games that would entertain both students and elderlies.
